Our History

Greater Love In Christ Ministries is a non-denominational church firmly rooted in the teachings of the Bible. Founded in 1996 by Pastor David Hill, our community began as Faith Unlimited Ministries Christian Center, meeting at 21 Bell Ave, Chattanooga, TN. Following the passing of Pastor Hill in 2015, the Board of Directors unanimously appointed Pastor Sarah Lott as Senior Pastor to lead our congregation forward.

Under Pastor Lott’s compassionate leadership, we embraced a new chapter by moving to our current location at 1011 Bachman Street, Chattanooga, TN, and adopting a new name that truly reflects the heart of our ministry and the community we serve: Greater Love In Christ Ministries.

Our name is inspired by the scripture in John 15:13 (NKJV): “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” This verse continues to inspire and guide us as we strive to embody Christ’s love in all we do.

Pastor Emerita - Sarah Lott

Pastor Lott began her education in both public and private schools in Chattanooga, Tennessee. During her childhood, her family relocated from Louisiana to Orange, Texas, where she was raised and completed her secondary education. She pursued higher education at Wiley College in Marshall, Texas, and later earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

A devoted born-again believer, Pastor Lott has faithfully served in a variety of ministry roles throughout her life. Her pastoral journey includes briefly shepherding Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ in Orlando, Florida, before becoming a member of Temple of Faith Deliverance Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Dr. Rozario Slack.

Pastor Lott is the widow of Joe Lott, Jr., and the proud mother of four children, grandmother of twelve, and great-grandmother of seven. In 2009, she joined Pastor Hill at Faith Unlimited Ministry Center on special assignment to assist in advancing the ministry. Before his passing in 2015, Pastor Hill entrusted her with the role of his successor, a decision affirmed by the church Board.

Pastor Lott provided steadfast leadership during the ministry’s transition and faithfully continued to serve until her retirement on September 28, 2025, at which time she was honored with the title of Pastor Emerita.
